Kyrgyz State Medical Academy successfully cooperates with many foreign higher medical educational institutions. Borders of partnership constantly extend, thanks to vigorous activity of employees of academy.
The йSлю cooperates with the Polish Academy of Medicine named after Alberta Schweitzer, which has Centers of Alberta Schweitzer in many universities of the world. Under the initiative of the president, professor Kazimira Imilienskii of the Polish Medical Academy this Center was created in our Academy. Primary goal of the Center - application of his ideas in medical practice.
The KSMA maintains close relations with Medical Institute Ljubeksk of University of Federal Republic of Germany. The professor of Medical Faculty of this University Evald Konechnyi and executive director of the company "Kyrgyz Agro business" Rudolf Dangers under the partnership have visited the KSMA and have granted anesthesiology device.
The Medical Academy is the partner of University of John Hopkins in program of JHPIEGO. This partnership yielded in the creation of the technically well-equipped Educational Institute of reproductive health and family planning. This Institute was created under the KSMA Institute for Obstetrics and Gynecology. Its faculty underwent training in Manila (Philippines) resulting in the production of the manual "Protection of reproductive health", curricula design on reproductive health and family planning for higher educational institutions of the Kyrgyz Republic. Particular importance for the Medical Academy is the partnership with the American International Health Alliance (юIHA). Under this partnership while celebrating 60-anniversary of establishment of the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy in September 9, 1999 the Memorandum of mutual understanding between University of Nevada and Kyrgyz State Medical Academy was signed. From the Kyrgyz side the Memorandum was signed by Minister of Health Mr. N.K.Kasiev and rector of the йSлю Mr. I.K.Akylbekov, from the American side by the Executive director of the American International Health Alliance James Smith and the honorable dean of University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine Mr. Robert Dogherti. The purpose of this agreement is the development of productive and long- term cooperation between the partner from the United States of America and the partner from Kyrgyzstan.

  • In 80th educational-methodical and research process was considerably improved. The Kyrgyz State Medical Institute entered the world scientific community bringing up research issues relative to medicine in mountains, which moved KSMI toward strengthening of integration into research environment.
    In connection to structural changes in 1996 the Institute was reorganized by the decree of President of Kyrgyz Republic to become the Kyrgyz State Medical Academy. The administration took measures to ensure Academy's transition into market economy reflecting in a contractual system of training. At that, modernization of educational-methodical and research process have been under way. In 2000 the йSлю started introduction of new curricula designed in line with international standards.

    Basic goals of the partnership

     
    1. Training of teachers and development of educational programs for managers in the public health system, policymakers in public health system and practitioners, family physicians and nurses with higher education degree.
    2. Implementation of two modeling family clinics (one city, another rural) that will form educational base for the йSлю and its curricula. Creation of conditions for programs implementation of healthy communities on sites of service of two modeling clinics.
    3. Implementation on the clinical bases of clinical and administrative reports and programs, and also modeling strategy on strengthening health and diseases' prevention.
    Under this partnership cooperation was launched between the йSлю and University of South Florida, which successfully develops in the field of Public Health.

    Between the йSлю and Clinic of Manual, Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery of the Zurich University the agreement was concluded on cooperation, which envisages joint scientific and clinical researches, an exchange of experts, organization of joint discussions, international conferences and trainings.

    During several years there's been a Plastination Centre in Medical Academy, which was established under cooperation of the KSMA with Institute of Plastination of the Heidelberg University (Germany). On the basis of the Institute of Plastination, йSлю opened its museum of plastination, analogues of which can be found only in Germany and China. Pursuing the goal of the subsequent intensification and expansion of cooperation in the field of higher education the Medical Academy has signed agreements on cooperation with Mudonzjan Medical Institute (the People's Republic of China), with Novosibirsk State Medical Academy (Russia), with Turkmen State Medical Institute (Turkmenistan) and the second Tashkent State Medical Institute (Uzbekistan).
